Execution is effective. You use fear to stop people from doing bad things. If you do bad things, you get punished. Isn’t that how society runs? People are inherently bad just like Lord of the Fries.

On another note, just because the Chinese government has executed the person they have scapegoated for the food and drug regulation problems doesn’t do anything to change the fact that Chinese products can still be dangerous; that they do not have a trustworthy system to ensure consumer safety.

To play in the global playground, China really needs to do more than to execute individuals. Massive reform is needed. I have a “wait and see” attitude about whether or not the Chinese system is capable of such reform.

China certainly has a highly efficient system of some sort… doesn’t sound “judicial” to me, though…
