Haha, has it been that long since you’ve been back to smalltown, USA? I thought you grew up in the suburbs like me. I’m back in my hometown now, population 10,000, and one of the first things I noticed right away was how all the local Asian American males were dating white females, and above-average in beauty white females, too. Having been in big and diverse cities for too long now, all I’d been seeing were Asian females and white males. It cannot be denied that this definitely is more frequent than the Asian male-white female relationship in L.A., NYC, or the bay area.

This worried my Mom, who ever-so-subtly would show me Asian magazines, point to the Asian female models, and say, “Do you think she’s cute? How about this one? I believe generally it’s a situation where people grew up as minorities in a society wanting to be part of main stream society. As a result, the women married into the general population. Also because of this situation, the Asian male grew up to be shy adults; and therefore, percieved as the mommy’s boy and more interested in folding laundry than to ask a girl out for dancing and a romanic dinner (I do not mean to be insulting but that came from reliable sources and I apologize as I know I must have offended many respectable Asian men). More importantly, that was in the past, and was in the 1970’s and 80’s.
In modern day Canada, and with globalization, my observation is people are becoming more ‘colour blind’ especially among younger people. As much as I wish my kids marry their ‘own kind’, I believe that it is more important that they marry someone with the same value, rather than someone with the same colour.
Lastly, be proud of what and who you are. Dress like a refined gentleman, talk with confidence, walk into the restaurant as if you own the place, be romantic and ..open the door for the ladies…and then ..Watch out!!!

I did have a smaller dating pool in “my community” when younger and none attracted me. I ended up dating European women, for the most part. I didn’t even date that many British women.
The obesity rates in Britain are second only to America and I do prefer more athletic women.

To tell the truth, it is very difficult to have relationships with an Asian guys because in the sex they are not the same as Westerners, I should confess. And they know it and the trouble won’t be solved.
I know some girls from Ukranian or Belorussia married Taiwanese guys, but all the time that was a marriage for money and stable family, not for personal happiness. Because in that countries the majority of men are irresponsible, bad husbands and addicted to alchohol, so it is very difficult for a woman to find a good husband.
When you write that Asian guys CAN and DO get White women, that’s right: as my Taiwanese lovers “got” me (though when they got me, they found out that the troubles only were to begin) or they get these poor women from poor countries. Even women from rich Western countries can go for Asian - to try them, to see what it looks like to do it with an Asian. But for real love - I think, it is extremely rare to happen. The diffeneces are too big. We’d rather date Africans, better for both.

Growing up and living in London. I have met and dated women of different nationalities. I’m usually the guy pushing my more conservative male friends to broaden their horizons and date outside their race.

Besides, where are all these women of different nationalities now? And were they those admired by white men? I mean, did the beautifullest, most appreciated girls running to you wanting you etc after they have had sex with you? Did you have any rivals from handsom tall Europeans or no rivalry or only from those fat ugly short guys? I am convinced: NO.
To tell the truth, even now I like Asian guy’s appearance: their eyes and black hair, and that they are faithfull and serious in relationships, but now I treat them like a beautiful creature or as friends, no more as a sexual object, and all this based on my own experience and observations.

Sorry to read that you have been disappointed. Then again, I’ve met women who do not date certain races due to the male attitudes. From Eastern European women who prefer Western men to African women who do not want African men.

Hearing your comments on this is quite disconcerting for Asian males. Since we know that Taiwanese people were brought up in an envriornment that is the polar opposite of the United States. There’s a thin line between the ideas of being masculine and feminine, unlike the United States where there is a strong idea of what both sides are.
Thing is, you make it sound as if it’s impossible for Asian males to get with anyone period, because of factors that are not within our control.
And at the same time, there are a lot of complaints of Asian woman and their desire for White males. We all know the reasons everywhere.
But I think it’s time to stop complaining and actually look for solutions to what we can do.
Because I see a lot of posts here that does nothing but degrades the Asian male, the Asian female.
But I don’t see any solutions to the problem.

Hot is hot, regardless of race. If you’re a good-looking, confident Asian guy, you should be able to attract the attention of just about any girl.
