When I visited Macao, I stopped into the Wynn for a quick look-see. After passing through the minimal exterior, you're hit with lots of deep red and gold colors, baccarat tables, and smoke.

It's an interesting contrast to the Wyn in Las Vegas, where the first thing you're hit with is a beautiful lobby.

Perhaps it's a subtle difference, but the casinos in Vegas tend to cater more towards an "experience", whereas Macao skips the foreplay and jumps right into the gambling. At least, that's been my quick impression of Macao.

As someone who just visited Macau literally two days ago, all I have to say is: Uhm, Macau isn't a tenth of what Las Vegas is; not as hell on a Monday night, anyway. Seriously, it's full of surfy mainland Chinese people with metal detectors on every floor (yes, every FLOOR) to keep Triads from killing someone else with a metal fork.
