Sometimes Asians just need to tell a good dog-eating story.

In an effort to continue my streak of possibly-inappropriate blog titles (see my post at blogging.la which has generated a number of interesting comments), I share with you a post written by one of my favorite bloggers, no milk. Actually, Mr. Lactose Intolerant is much more polite than that… it’s actually No Milk PLEASE.

Anyhooz, back to the dog-eating story.

The scene starts on an idyllic day in Philippines when no milk was just a lad of four…

Patience

When I was four, I witnessed something quite horrible, though at that time it seemed curious as well.

I know that in these YouTube days, horror mingled with curiosity are quite pedestrian, there’s someone posting a horrifying video that you can’t take your eyes off right this minute. But in those days, the mixture of horror and curiosity was something you can only experience first-hand.

Let me step back a bit and paint you a picture of that beautiful early summer, in my hometown in the Philippines. The temperature was mild and sunny almost every day. In a month, the sun will turn treacherous and burn your skin in a minute, but right then, it was just perfect. You could run around for days and not break out in a sweat.

Our dog, Patience–Pasensiya in Tagalog, was pregnant. Patience was a mutt, with creamy short hair. Her face and legs were often caked in mud, as if she just came from nosing around somewhere in the garden.

  1. [...] I figure I can’t go wrong with a post entitled: “Sometimes Asians just need to tell a good dog-eating story.” [...]

  2. I WAS hungry and just about to make lunch … now, I’m not so sure.

  3. When did the whole dog-eating thing start with people? It’s the only joke people can make these days.

  4. Racist Superbowl Ads:

Token Asian women as eye candy and stereotyped images of Asian men.

The most notable ad iwas the horribly unfunny and tasteless Salesgenie ad, with Pandas speaking in Chinese accents. Someone’s going to be apologizing tomorrow. And the next day. And the day after that.

How about the racist ad with the Indian and Asian guy? Can’t remember who the hell the ad was for.

  5. What was wrong with having the pandas speak with chinese accents?

  6. Oh, and this dog-eating story really made my day. :)

  7. Because that ad and the one with the fake indian accent were over the top racist ads.

Typical trash ads developed by advertising firms with a bunch of white people with racist attitudes towards minorities.

    Look closer at the ads.

Token Asian women catering to white guys

Dweeby Asian guys that look like they play with themselves for entertainment.

If they had an ad with a donkey speaking with a spanish accent you would find LULAC up in arms.

  8. So…are Asian groups gonna let them KNOW that it was offensive or stay silent.

Don’t stay silent. Let them know. It’s time out for Asians being ‘quiet’ and ‘going with the flow as to not upset the white folk’. SPEAK UP! Let people know that you’re here.

Ya’ll need to SPEAK UP! Seriously.

  9. angryasianman.com’s posting is starting to stir up the shyte.

Probably staffed by a bunch of thirty something white guys trying to look “hip” with 2 day old stubble, narrow hipster glasses and funky striped shirts.

They must have been spending too much time in Chinatown looking at the “exotic cutesy” Asian women and the heathen VC Asian men during their “cultural trips” to the Chinese greasy spoon restaurants on Kearney Street.

Got to get bigbadchinesemama.com involved. They should get a fist full of Exoticizing from the BBCM.

    Typical TV and print Ads:

White guys, one token black and one token Asian women for eye candy and exoticization.

White guy with Asian women looking like she “feels so lucky” to be with mister YT.
