You have to give Travis thumbs up for embracing the country, language and food of his adoptive mother. I was laughing at the video because I realized that is how I sound to my cousins when I try to speak tagalog. Travis actually speaks better tagalog then full blooded filipinos that live in the U.S. surrounded by the culture and filipinos 4/7. Also, I watched this video a couple of times because Travis is really easy on the eyes! I know how to cook adobe and I still watched this video quite a few times. LOL!

Yes, saw it. My sister is the one who yells "Ang guwapo mo!" ("your handsomeness!"), and my niece is in the Salo-Salo DVD. My sons really liked the heart scene.

OMG i was laughing so hard when i started listening to him..... and my family thought my tagalog had an accent (in my defense, i grew up here, where i never really needed to speak but i can understand). the recipe is good though, you should crush the bay leaves for more flavor. i wonder if he was reading it or if he actually knew tagalog well enough to say it by himself... though somehow i doubt it, if so he should have a better accent. lol.

english translation!!!

hi, I'm Travis Craft. (i think thats how you spell it) Welcome to my kitchen. Today we are going to cook chicken adobo. First you need four pieces of chicken, garlic and onions, bay leaves, oil, vinegar, soy sauce and pepper.
First heat the pot then cut the garlic into small pieces (or crush it). Then cut the onions. Put oil into the pot and add the garlic, cook till golden brown then add the onion. (stir) Add the chicken. put in the bay leaves. Then add the soy sauce and vinegar, stir and cover. Allow to boil for 10-15 minutes until the chicken absorbs the flavor. Turn off the stove and add pepper. The chicken Adobo is finished! Its so tasty!

Note: on very few of this translation i guessed because he started speaking to softly to hear. Hope it helps!!

OMG... Makes me want to recruit a non-asian friend of mine to make some "ethnic" foods.

But I'm sure I'm as hilarious (but with a more authentic accent) when I cook in spanish...
