Also, it worked differently on different browsers, and not at all consistently. For example, on my corporate issued laptop running an old IE 6, sometimes the comment count appeares and other times it does not. It always appeared on Safari on my Mac at home though. That inconsistency was annoying, especially since I spend most of my time on the corporate laptop. Disqus added more things to deal with when commenting.
