Dragon Ball Z – The Movie

| |

I always KNEW Dragon Ball Z was white! And now I can prove it!

More pics at the Dragonball: The Movie blog. (Extra emphasis on the douche-chill-inducing Chow Yun Fat picture…)

This just in: the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics The Movie has been announced!  They’re going to cast the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics as the film’s star.

What next?

  • In related news, my friend ‘Millie’ is auditioning for the live-action version of Avatar: the last Windbender (or whatever it is) supposedly being directed by James Cameron.

    She’s white. and 14.

  • oh wait…this is why you should always check IMDB…it’s not the cartoon. Everyone ignore me please.

  • We have to be colorblind! Stop being racist! Anyone should be able to play him!

  • “Racist”? What are you talking about; I love Asian people.

  • Need I point out that when Goku goes Super Saiyan that he goes through some interesting changes:

    1. His eyes turn from black to blue
    2. His hair turns from black to blond

    Interpret that as you will.

I’m reminded of a when John Wayne played Genghis Khan in “Conqueror”.

As well as a line from so many cartoons from my youth:
“Mammy, Mammy, can’t you see it’s me, Mammy?”

Being colorblind is fighting ignorance with ignorance. We can’t ask a black man to play Bruce Lee. You can’t ask an Asian man to play JFK. Just be reasonable.

I agree its questionable to cast Goku with someone categorized as “white” when his features in the cartoon are clearly more Asian than Caucasian, BUT Goku is from another planet.

    Whatever.

  • Once again we need some white guy to save us asians from our own catastrophes and to seduce our women.

  • Colorblind is a myth. No one can be color blind, unless you are total blind than it is OK, but I saw Dave Chapelle Black white supremacist skit, so even if you are blind you can ignore race.

They should cast everyone white, I would be fine with that. They cast an White guy and Asian guy as love interest. They cast the Old Asian Kung Fu master.

Good thing I never watch Hollywood because I would want to shoot at the sceen.
