Here in Europe, "Oriental" and actually "Asian" mean completely different things to what we're used to in California. "Oriental" usually means middle-eastern (so Oriental food is kebab, for instance), and "Asian" usually means Pakistani, Indian, or Bangladeshi. Not particularly relevant to this post, but just thought I'd share. Hey John! Here in Europe, “Oriental” and actually “Asian” mean completely different things to what we’re used to in California. “Oriental” usually means middle-eastern (so Oriental food is kebab, for instance), and “Asian” usually means Pakistani, Indian, or Bangladeshi.
