I did the research. Carmen is of Italian and Dominican descent. Her mother had come from the Dominican Republic. Charles Joseph Giannotti Jr, her father, came from Detroit. Her mother eventually divorced and remarried. She has a two-year-old daughter now, Bianca, and lives in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn with her husband, Lawrence Ulrich, an auto critic for the New York Times.

why would you be offended by the term oriental? seems better than asian since asia is a pretty big place? ive heard stuff like oriental rug or whatver but that doesnt make sense cause you can have an asian rug too righhttt?
