I got mine at my local bookstore (town of 26,000) so I don't know why others are having a problem. The biggest issue with this book is that it is a HUGE disappointment. Preachy and basic, the book misses the opportunity to really create something of interest. Rather than actually create new superheroes, most of the pages are devoted to a "discussion" of identity, culture, and race. That would have been MUCH more interesting if the contributors couched it - the discussion - in more compelling narratives.

Oh well.

"I recently read Gene Yang’s ABC and loved it. Made me wonder if there were any other graphic novels with an Asian American focus. "

Adrian Tomine's <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Shortcomings-Adrian-Tomine/dp/1897299168" rel="nofollow">Shortcomings.</i> I highly highly recommend it.

I've ordered Secret Identities and am looking forward to checking it out.

I read it. Nice effort but I don't think it's very good. Some stories are pretty decent but for the most part, art is subpar.
