Hahahaha that's awesome. The Green Dam girl, as you mentioned, is definitely a product of the creative internet subculture that pervades even suppression-happy China. It's incredible how countries refuse to acknowledge the power of the internet's whistle-blowing watchdogs.

That video also gives a sense of how little grasp the media has of the stories that come out of China.

The chinese netizens already left 10,400 comments on an anti-Green Dam website called issw365.org. http://www.newsy.com/videos/chinese_filter_a_no_go They are voicing their frustrations and opinions against Green Dam strongly. However, I don't think their voice will be able to stop the Chinese government. But, through other reports, it sounds like the Green Dam system will contain holes that Chinese citizens can filter through to beat the governments censorship.
