After that the U.S proceeded dropping 2 bombs and killed hundreds of thousands of civilians.

The casualties were mostly civilians, although you would think they would aim at Government and military buildings.

Without which, millions of others would surely have perished in the holocaust perpetuated by the Japanese. Considering that more people died in the firebombing at Dresden and more people were slaughtered in the search for Doolittle after Pearl Harbor, I don't but the numbers argument. That said, war is horrific and I do not wish it upon anyone. I, among millions of others am truly grateful for the bombings that week over sixty years ago. Without which, millions of others would surely have perished in the holocaust perpetuated by the Japanese. Considering that more people died in the firebombing at Dresden and more people were slaughtered in the search for Doolittle after Pearl Harbor, I don't but the numbers argument. U.S.A!" as they read through the plaques that were presented there.
