People need to know that before the drops dropped Japan was already defeated and were ready to surrender.

After that the U.S proceeded dropping 2 bombs and killed hundreds of thousands of civilians.

The casualties were mostly civilians, although you would think they would aim at Government and military buildings.

Also during that time, all Japanese Americans were marched into Internment camps

I, among millions of others am truly grateful for the bombings that week over sixty years ago. Without which, millions of others would surely have perished in the holocaust perpetuated by the Japanese. Considering that more people died in the firebombing at Dresden and more people were slaughtered in the search for Doolittle after Pearl Harbor, I don't but the numbers argument. That said, war is horrific and I do not wish it upon anyone.

I recommend seeing White Light Black Rain by Steven Okazaki to see and hear the survivors' side of the story, as well as some American servicemen who were involved releasing the bomb.

After visiting both museums in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, I can't help but be angry at America for releasing the atomic bombs on civilians after so many recommendations from scientists and experts, including Albert Einstein, advising them not to.

It doesn't help when young white Americans who visited the Nagasaki musuem were anxious and whining about feeling guilty for going into the musuem, then later chanting loud whispers of "U.S.A! U.S.A!" as they read through the plaques that were presented there.
