Hope that this film is more digestible than Red Cliff (I got so lost in that movie since I wasn't familiar with the characters and the story). Another Chinese story that you might be interested in is the Butterfly Lovers, which also features a cross dressing girl. Of course, it's more of a tragic Romeo and Juliet love story than Mulan's a girl-can-kick-ass-like-a-boy story. I am especially excited to see that Vicky Zhao will be playing Mulan.
