The Tiger Woods Scandal (According to Taiwan)

By Moye | Tuesday, December 1, 2009 | 11 Comments

Oh, Tiger Woods. You have everything in the world, including a hot model wife and a pair of multi-racial children (who I like to believe symbolize world peace and racial unity or whatever), but you just had to go mess your (allegedly) perfect life up with an affair (supposedly). But what can we learn from this latest scandal?

Here’s my lesson: when all else fails, turn to China Taiwan for some pretty awesome reenactments. I have no idea what they’re saying but this is what I gathered. Tiger Woods looks like Gary Coleman, rich people still drive minivans and life is always more fun when it looks like a bad video game.

Thanks for rating this! Now tell the world how you feel via Twitter.
(Nah, it's cool; just take me back.)

This is so funny! A friend of mine (who is not Asian and does not speak Chinese, etc.) sent me this link. I guess this is the YouTube sensation of the week.

  • ehuang

Haha what they were actually saying (kind of I think…)is that he and his wife were fighting recently and they assumed that she bitch-slapped him and then as he drove away in the car attacked the mini-van with a golf club. Then they showed a picture of his multiracial children but didn’t say much. I will recreate this on Sims :)

  • johnklin

So the animation and news report was actually done by a TAIWANESE news station – Apple Daily, NOT China (i.e. Taiwan is NOT a part of China). I should have commented on this earlier when I saw the sub-titled characters were Traditional Chinese and NOT Simplified Chinese.

Thanks for the info; I was going to ask around to see if anyone could find out.

On the plus side…at least the Internet was pretty close, right? I’ve seen so many viral videos that have been labeled with the wrong Asian country.

  • johnklin

Yes, close. But obviously, some Taiwanese and Taiwanese Americans do not think Taiwan is a part of China :) .
