Were you in a hole during the 2002 Winter Olympics, Ben!?

This guy was ALL OVER the news that year, thanks in part to the controversy regarding South Korean skaters/disqualifications. Apolo got a ton of hate mail and death threats from Koreans, if I remember correctly.

Plus, he was on Dancing with the Stars, so you shame on you for not having heard of him until now!!!

This is his 3rd Olympic games and he has been a dominant competitor in his sport of short track speed skating that entire time. The races are great fun…a kind of roller derby meets speed skating. The races are fast, aggressive and chaotic…often with bodies flying all over the track. I highly recommend watching them during next year's Olympics. …and yes, the sport is definitely dominated by Asian competitors…especially South Korea.

Amusingly, if you look the guy up, one of the first search references that comes up after the name is “Apolo Ohno girlfriend”.
