I’ve been fascinated by Penis-Gate with the recent “controversy” over how Kate Gosselin joked that Jon’s penis was “stubby” and how his ex-girlfriend Hailey Glassman said that he had a “tiny, tiny, tiny” penis in a recent issue of Us Weekly.

All this penis talk got me thinking, do Asians really have small penes (which is the plural of penis)? That’s the stereotype, right? But since I haven’t seen many human penes in my life (besides my own) I don’t really know. So I did a quick Google search and this is what I found:

The Penis Size Chart By Ethnicity done the British Medical Journal: this indicates that Asians do have smaller penes but as one astute person commented, Asians do have the highest number in the 8.8 category. Without knowing their sample size and who exactly they sampled from, this study seems questionable at best.
“The Definitive Penis Size Survey,” which I put in quotes because even according to them, they don’t have a very large sample size of non-whites. Is it any surprise then that Caucasians in their study had the biggest and longest lasting penis?
The Penis Size Chart: I don’t trust this one because they refer to Asians as “Orientals.”

One interesting article I discovered during my research was that some men in Asia are having penis enlargement surgery to “to avoid shame when bathing en masse.” I think that’s a silly reason to want to cut open your own penis, but to each their own. I try my hardest not to judge. However, if you’re thinking about this surgery, you can always consider the Male Organ Specific Enhancement Surgery.

After all of that, I still don’t know what to think about Asians and penis size; after seeing many too pictures and visiting way too many websites devoted to the penis, I do know that men are very sensitive about the size of their genitalia. I read somewhere that men believe the average penis size is almost eight inches. Don’t worry, guys. In reality, it’s much closer to five. In the end, every women’s site seems to say that it’s not the size of the boat that matters but how one twirls it around. At least, that’s what they say because to me, that reeks of “I like your personality.” Maybe I’m a little cynical.

As an Asian man, I’m thinking we just need better PR and to somehow compel Asian guys in the 8.8 category to become porn stars, or at least have their own penis websites. Dare I suggest Asianshavelargepenes.com? Feel free to use that. I want credit, though.

I always figured the whole size thing was a myth because I’ve never personally had experience with it, and my friends who have dated or married Asian guys have always said their SOs were average, or occasionally more than average.

I believe this is a myth. For decades the only birth control available in Japan was condoms. Because of the high level of quality and high level of money spent on R&D in the Japanese condom industry Japan condoms have long come in more sizes and shapes than can be found in other countries. So for instance if you go into a store selling condoms in Tokyo chances are very good they will carry far more smaller sized condoms than you would find anywhere else. But this is not because there are more smaller sized guys in Tokyo rather it is because the condom industry there markets more effectively than other places.

All of that being said I recently posted some work I did on a data set of 27,000 men’s penises. While I did not cross index for race you might find the results of interest.

Although it could have been that Kate was just super fertile. I thought that they had actually done invitro though. Which then makes sense why it was as such since they basically put the eggs on ice and do it to a bunch of them and see which ones take. Is there a link to the actual study in the BMJ? I followed the link from the Buzzfeed article and did a search (not particularly thoroughly, I’ll admit!) but couldn’t find anything. Methinks the chart is not for real. Besides, if the study was carried out in the UK, the term “Asian” means something completely different to what it means in the U.S.

You are too concerned with other men’s penises and not about actual science. You should look into the research if you’re gonna be so obsessed because otherwise you’re just gonna spread misinformation to people just as confused as you. The fact is, there is no empirical evidence that AM have smaller penises.

Most of my best gay friends who hail from China, Thailand, etc ask me… and not out of mere lust but usually out of self-consciousness… if “Western guys” really are bigger. I tell them the most truthful thing one could say in response to their question: “Western guys hope that you think so.”

First of all its not true that every single Asian has a small one which is a no brainer of course, but still, if it were, that penis size is such a big topic is embarassment to human evolution. Even if Asian men WERE, verbatum, smaller than any other men on planet earth, if such a thing was an excuse to label them as inferior it would be a disgrace.

I once read a guy post on craigslist from a guy, he said he was Asian and if you met him he would “Prove that Asian men aren’t all tiny.” I felt as though he was implicitly saying that he was in a class of his own and those …other Asian men… were below him, which is really not cool if you take it that way.

Seems the chart is a fake. If you follow the link to buzzfeed, it claims this is from the British Medical Journal. But the link there only goes to top-level domain bmj.com. If you search there for a chart or study like this, nothing appears.

I had my sampling of Asian men in China and I have come to the conclusion that their cocks are NOT smaller than average. Most were above or well above 6″. Not a scientific study but had a good time taking notes.

Obviously some Asian men have been watching too much American porn *eyeroll cue*. Btw, when I told one of my guy friends that vaginas are only 3-4inches deep, he was really shocked and wondered where the other 2 inches of the penis goes. Yea, they don’t exactly serve much practical purpose, in fact it would suck if your penis is way too long, because you can’t fit it in anywhere.

The Japanese and American samples were representative. The French, German, Spanish, etc were not – they were done on self-selected college kids. Can you imagine a white guy with a 2 inch dick (believe me, there are tons of them) going into a clinic specifically to get himself measured?

Asian guys actually ARE slightly bigger than whites on average. Whites however have a much wider range in “size”, blacks even more so. I’m a gay guy but I’m not a manwhore, I got this info from medical journals.

White guys are also 2x as likely to get breast cancer and suffer from gynecomastia (breast tissue on males). They are also twice as likely to be considered “low-T” than Asian males. And, on average, they have more estrogen (blacks the most). But again, the estrogen levels in white males vary a lot more.

As a White American living in Japan (and a sexually active gay man, if anyone cares to know), I definitely agree with that study whose authors found that Japanese men have larger penes than American men on average. However, there are some Japanese men who have very small ones and some American men who have very large ones, too. It mostly depends on the individual.
