the a word 8Asians’ The A Word: Episode #1 – The BANANA 2 Conference

  • “a word” [noun] – a short talk or conversation
  • “A-Word” [noun] – a unit of the English language, starting with the letter ‘A’

8Asians’ The A-Word — the first official podcast of 8Asians.com — aims to be a fun conversation piece talking expertly about things we don’t know about, and having very serious debates about trivial things. Guests for this episode include Joz Wang (@jozjozjoz from 8Asians.com) and Dr. Ray Hsu (@TheWayofRay from TheWayofRay.com.)

For our very first episode, we’ll talk about the love fest at the BANANA 2 Conference, the use of food to describe Asian Americans and we play VERBAL VOMIT with attendees at the BANANA 2.

A bit of understanding is needed as Joz didn’t have a proper mic and headset to record with, and there are some audio issues from Verbal Vomit that I’m well aware of; it’s just that it would have been a shame if no one got to hear it. This is our first episode — warts and all — so any and all feedback, comments and suggestions are welcomed.

Many thanks to our Verbal Vomit Players: Cynthia Brothers of Bicoastal Bitchin, Anne of OneVietnam.org, Dr. Ray Hsu of The Way of Ray, Nelson Wong of AARisings and Tetsuro Shigematsu of Shiggy.com.

Thanks for rating this! Now tell the world how you feel - Share this on Twitter and on Facebook.
(Nah, it's cool; just take me back.)
