Monsieur Nov Brings Smooth French Asian Soul

By Edward | Thursday, March 24, 2011 | 11 Comments

Over the past few days, I have come across Monsieur Nov, a French R&B singer of east Asian descent who is a well known artist in France. I’m pretty sure he’s not that well known here in America and that is something that MUST be rectified.

Check out this sexy, smooth song “Trop Fresh.” I don’t understand anything he’s saying but hell, I’m melting over this one. I have nothing else to say except that I’m going crazy over this guy. If you feel my love, tell the whole world about this soulful, smooth as silk R&B singer and check out his album, Sans dessus 2 soul that features this song.

[Editors' Note: It helps to have a writer who can speak French. Thanks to Xxxtine, we were able to translate his biography on his Facebook page:

Monsieur Nov a.k.a. Chinois Chauve (translation: Bald Chinese) is a writer, composer and lyricist who reinvents his music everyday with his off beats and refreshing take on acid and soul, sass and groove sounds to produce intoxicating melodies.  Pushes the grooves to the max with his bass, beats and harmonies intertwining, he ignites the sound.

Therapy groove, a concentration of music that energizes and revolutionizes your view of live on stage: "The Future is Nov."

Albums:
Sans Dessus 2 Soul (2008) (pronounced "Sans Dessus de Soul" because 2 in French is 'deux'.  Translation: Upside of Soul)
Groove Therapy (2010)

Per Christine, he's also a fan of the Korean soccer team and one of their players Park Ji Sung!]

Thanks for rating this! Now tell the world how you feel via Twitter.
(Nah, it's cool; just take me back.)

This guy could be reading the goddamn ingredients to a soup can and I’d be all, “okay, this is tight.” (Christine, please verify that he’s not reading ingredients off a soup can.)

  • jenniferc

    this music is sexy!

  • Xxxtine

@ErnieHsiung The only ingredients he’s listing are for how to get down with a lady. It’s pretty clever – considering I don’t listen to much music in French (if any at all). If I had to make a lyrical comparison, it would be along the lines of Maxwell or D’Angelo. He loves the ladies.

I wish more Azn dudes would rock the bald look.

  • thebodydiaries

    I think he’s sexy.

  • kurlykolly

seriously @MonsieurVENO (yes i found him on twitter) is amazing. can’t stop listening to him.

  • Lilikoi

No glitter, no props…just raw talent.

This kind of sound is what Americans eat up. It can be hard for international artists to break into our market

but this guy easily could because he truly has a beautiful voice.Bravo.
