Asians are the Fastest Growing Racial Group in U.S.

By Lexington | Wednesday, June 20, 2012 | 5 Comments

From the New York Times: “Asians have surpassed Hispanics as the largest wave of new immigrants to the United States, pushing the population of Asian descent to a record 18.2 million and helping to make Asians the fastest-growing racial group in the country, according to a study released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center.” The study also identifies Asians as  the highest earning and and best-educated racial group in the United States. This news comes on the heels of the American media’s focus on immigration due to President Obama’s decision to stop deporting illegal immigrants.

So us hispanic are unattractive and dumb? Haha…ahahaha…hahahaha but I love this because there are racial lines being drawn. For exmaple I’m puerto rican and both both side but also black. This mixture comes from the transatlantic slavery and the global trade of african slaves. Only 4% made it to the united states. With the other 96% disperse in future latin america and caribbean. In fact when I have to claim race in this nation. I don’t know if you realize that u.s is clever to claim hispanic (non-black) origins. Those who are latino pick mostly white or native american. Depending on personal preference. I lie to pick hispanic because if confuse the hell out of people. Just so they can ask. “Miss you need to chose african-american not hispanic you look mixed with black.” Me saying “but I am puerto rican on both sides and my family comes from puerto rico.
I’m glad to see asian are getting the leg up but hope its for right reasons. On top that do not lose a sense of heritage and pride in order to fit america’s racist point of views.
