Seven time muay thai world champion. Undefeated champion of champions. Rising MMA champion, no doubt. Miriam “Queen of Mean” Nakamoto is a beast, a decorated graduate of the school of hard knocks in every sense of the term, including literally. At 36, she’s a year older than me and still at the peak of her fighting career, a peak that seems to get higher every year.

An American of mixed heritage, she is also of Japanese heritage, as you can probably guess by her last name. Nakamoto was born in Hawaii, which I feel like makes you Asian Pacific Islander American no matter what your biological heritage (I’m looking at you, Barack). Her grandmother was a picture bride. Although Nakamoto models to make some regular cash flow and is a raw foodie cook, fighting is her spiritual bread and butter. She currently fights out of Dublin, CA.

Here’s her most recent MMA fight:

For anyone who would like to catch her live Pay Per View, she will be on the Invicta 7 fight card against Lauren Murphy on December 7th, 2013 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Nakamoto will be fighting Murphy for the inaugural Bantamweight Title. If she wins, which is HIGHLY LIKELY, Asian America will have two women MMA Champions. OMG, I wish I could be in Kansas City, MO Dec 7th!
