Spellbound Review: A Korean Rom-Com Horror
Spellbound casts its genre mixing dust across major cities in the US and Canada to create a magical web that entertains as it spooks. Jin Akanishi Takes “Test Drive” Into US Market & Thoughts On US debuts
Having enjoyed a #1 spot on the iTunes Dance chart, former KAT-TUN member, Jin Akanishi’s single ‘Test Drive” feat. Jason Derulo is quite the impressive US debut. I say US, because if you’re elsewhere in the world, you’re S.O.L. in being able to buy this single and its club hopping remixes. (Of course a little thing like borders doesn’t stop international fangirls from supporting their idol.) Critical thoughts after the jump.
Reel Asian Highlight: Pearls of the Far East Review
Making its World Premiere at the Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival (starting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 8th-19th) is PEARLS OF THE FAR EAST (Canada/Vietnam), a collection of seven short stories inspired by true events spanning several generations. The film captures some of the most breathtaking images of Vietnam making each frame absolutely postcard worthy gorgeous to watch. More after the jump.

Billboard Launches K-Pop Hot 100 List
In conjunction with Billboard Korea, Billboard.com has now included in its international section Billboard K-pop Hot 100 based on “digital sales via leading websites as well as downloads from mobile service sites using an industry-standard formula and the most credible music data sources within Korea.” In its inaugural list, Sistar’s recently released track “So Cool” tops the chart followed by Leesang’s “I Turned Off The TV” and 2NE1′s “Ugly.” Not surprisingly, girl groups dominate the [...] Continue »
