Bank of the West Joins Japan Disaster Relief Effort

Like many corporations, Bank of the West is joining the effort to help Japan in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami by donating $200,000 to assist the survivors of aftermath. More importantly, the bank is also waiving fees for its customers on any money transfers from the US to Japan until April 30th, 2011. I ran across this a while ago but haven’t had time to look into it further until now. I was searching for a microlending organization that not only was either a write-off or “investment” of sorts, but focused on China. Everything so far that you usually hear about was Kiva this, or Kiva that but they don’t really allow tax deductions. Enter Wokai.
