Internships at 8Asians

8Asians (http://www.8asians.com) is a collaborative blog of Asian-Americans and Asian-Canadians. But once you look past the fact that we fill out the same bubble in a census survey, you’ll see that we don’t have much in common, and as you’ll soon see, that’s not such a bad thing. We post about whatever Asian issues are currently relevant in our lives, whether it be pop culture or current events or politics.

Our internship program is available to college students who are interested in learning about writing for the Internet, cultivating editorial content, community management and promoting the awareness of the Asian American community. This is a great hands-on experience on working behind the scenes of one of the most popular APA related blogs around.

This will be an unpaid internship position, with the possibility of college or university course credit. Opportunities include:

Editorial and Community Management Interns will focus on the following:

Content creation and editorial duties on multiple 8asians LLC properties, including 8Asians, GASP!, Event Listings and Tumblr
Managing the 8Asians Community to make sure comments fit within our Comment Guidelines

Marketing and Social Media Interns will focus on the following:

Management of the 8Asians Brand on Social Media Channels such as Facebook, Twitter
Giveaways – Coordination between Third Parties and 8Asians Staff with sponsored Promotions
Creation of Marketing Newsletters
Promotions of the 8Asians brand on other channels
