    1. @ Kal Penn

    2. Did you ever light one up with the Pot.US? (I know it’s the lowest hanging fruit, but somebody has to ask.)

    3. premiere ^_^

  • FrazgoFraz

    Premiere

Given the amount of weed allegedly smoked in the H&K movies what is your favorite “brand”. (More low hanging fruit but my kids want to know). Did you get it with legit with a medical use card?

  • mwei

I meant the Pot.US as in real life, not the movie version of Dubya.

  • http://www.8Asians.com/ jozjozjoz

FRAZ! Who is your question for?!?!?! These questions are for John and Kal (actors)… not Harold & Kumar (the characters)

    POSTER

Hey, Kal! Is Neil Patrick Harris as awesome in person as he is on TV?

What super hero movie would you like to be in?

  • Luv4theGame

@ Kal: First off, Congratulations for all your success in the U.S. entertainment industry, as well as your opportunities in working for the Obama administration. I remember you stated at the Asian Xcellence Awards that in another 8-10 years that perhaps there wouldn’t be a need for a platform such as AXA for Asian-Americans. With that said, through your experience as a U.S. Public Liaison, do you believe the term “Asian-American” is obsolete (since there are some people who feel the term “Asian” is too broad and since these terms are also socially-constructed, others do not necessarily consider certain groups as part of the “Asian” category, i.e. Indians/Filipinos) and because you’re a liaison for the AA what are some of the biggest hurdles/obstacles that you feel the Asian-American community faces and what have you done to try and improve it?

@ John Cho: Congratulations with all your success throughout your career as an actor in the U.S. I would also like to say your speech in regards to No On Proposition 8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFNjJb2ubRE ) was a big inspiration and is always a great reminder on the pursuit of equality. With that said, what is your opinion on Hollywood casting majority Whites actors for lead roles in movies based on films/stories that fans who protest it feel that some of the lead roles should be played by Asian-Americans (such as 21, The Last Airbender, and the upcoming Akira, etc) and do you feel films like Harold & Kumar are progressive for the Asian-American community?

  • FrazgoFraz

@jozjozjoz I know, I know its the actors its for, but thats the questin my kids came up with. Curious minds want to know.

    John.

Do you think it’s harder for the Asian American community to catch their big break in the biz? Why do you think it is or isn’t?

    PREMIERE!

  • declan

JOhn: in your Hollywood career you have done a good job transcending the Asian stereotype and landing roles that years ago would have never gone to an asian (Flash Forward), while also securing iconic asian roles (Sulu) and even tweaking with Asian stereotypes (Harold). What role does race, and the portrayal of Asians in media play in your selection of roles?

    Premier!

  • KenNarasaki

For both John and Kal: Do you feel that you’ve reached a level of stardom where you can actually influence casting in your projects – like lobbying producers and directors to add more diversity to their (and your) casts?

  • miheekimkort

    Both.

Are there any roles you regret doing, and why? Are there any roles/characters you would love to do, and why?

As a successful actor and as someone who presumably enjoys living, how have you survived and navigated around the concrete jungle that is Hollywood?

    Premiere

  • henkster

    To Kal Penn-

What did you think when you were offered to do a third Harold and Kumar but, found out it was going to be a Christmas film? A stoner Christmas movie has yet to be done!

To John – Any plans to make another foray into television?

  • jedifreac

To John and Kal: As two of the most well known Asian American actors of your generation, could you share your thoughts on the media representation of Asian Americans? And what can we do to show Hollywood that more projects like H&K deserve to be made and more young actors of color deserve to be cast?

  • jedifreac

To Kal and John: A lot of young Asian Americans are interested in an acting career, but may feel discouraged because of the lack of opportunities for APA actors and/or lack of support from their parents (parents influenced in part by the lack of opportunities for APA actors.) With the understanding that this business takes a lot of hard work and persistence, do you have any advice or sage words of wisdom for young APA actors?

    (premiere)

  • nekohime

    Premiere.

To John: as an earlier poster has mentioned, you’ve landed a role that usually does not go to Asians. Have you found it difficult to get considered for ethnicity-blind roles such as the one in Flash Forward?

  • w_liu483

To John and Kal, what kind of reception do your Harold and Kumar films have on first-generation Asian immigrants to the U.S.?

  • nekohime

    Premiere.

To Kal: you’ve done TV, movies, politics…what’s next?

  • ksakai1

    To both,

If an API falls in Hollywood, does it make a sound?

    Koji

  • AnnPantaleon

To John – how did your family respond when you told them you were interested in pursuing acting as a career?

    PREMIERE

  • AnnPantaleon

To Kal – Since acting and politics are such opposite ends of the spectrum, what made you decide to come back to acting instead of furthering your interests in politics? (I’m glad you came back to acting, dont get me wrong!) Also, have you ever used your Hollywood status to influence your colleagues in D.C and vice versa?

    premiere

  • JerryWon

    To John & Kal,

If your movies, you play roles that are far from the “model minority” stereotypes. Do you think this helps, hurts Asian Americans becoming a stable force in Hollywood or do you think we’ve already arrived?

    Thanks,

    Jerry

    Premiere Please.
