Asian American Commercial Watch: Honda’s Clockwork Commute

In Honda’s latest 2013 ‘Civic Hybrid Interactive Tour: “Clockwork Commute”‘, the lovely actress Emily Chang plays the friend or girlfriend of a Honda Civic owner running errands and driving around a city. Chang was most recently seen in similar eye candy role and companion to yet another white male in a Ruffles commercial.

As The Washington Post had noted, the Asian Female, White Male pairing is the most common pairing on television and in television commercials. I wonder if this 2 minute web commercial will be re-purposed in a 30 or 60 second version televised commercial. Overall, I’m not sure how compelling this commercial is – though I’d rather see more of Chang than the white guy, that’s for sure.
