In California, you see a lot of doughnut shops that double as Chinese food restaurants – there is one down the block from my house in San Francisco, and I can think of at least three other restaurants in the city. There’s a great article in The Atlantic that discusses this, along with an explanation of why so many California doughnut shops are Cambodian owned and operated; it’s a fascinating article.
