The Chin Chens Teaser Trailer is Genuinely Unfunny

Five months ago, Joz wrote a write-up about The Chin Chens, the Asian American sitcom created for Dish Network’s CoLours TV written by African American Will Hollins. Well, the teaser trailer was recently released on YouTube, and while its less a “this show goes against everything I stand for as an Asian American” offensive, it’s more a “this sitcom does not strike me as funny” offensive.  Two words: Laugh track. Five more words: “Explosion in your pants” joke.

But hey, maybe I’m just a jerk who doesn’t have a soul. What do you think?

UPDATE: O Wow Entertainment has removed the Chin Chens trailer from YouTube. In its place is a YouTube clip with the following text: “Thank you to all of those who have seen our teaser trailer of The Chin Chens and provided feedbacks as part of your participation in our focus study group. We will be releasing our next trailer in the coming week so stay tuned!” Hey kids, we were part of a focus study group! Shouldn’t we be getting $75 gift certificates from Amazon by now or something?
