A friend recently pointed me to this amazing new photo blog project on tumblr started by Amy, a Chinese Mexican American from California and unabashed young feminist of color. The Feminist Photo Blog Project hopes to capture the different faces of feminism to make the movement as accessible as possible to people of all colors and backgrounds: “I wanted to create a forum where the average Jane and John could go to see people who look like them or people who don’t like them, proclaiming their feminist pride, loud and proud.” “I am saying, ‘yes, we’ve all seen that white feminists are alive and out and proud. Now let’s show the world that people of color also claim feminism!'” Submit your own photo by emailing feministphotoblogproject [at] gmail.com and check out this incredible visual archive of posts and pictures. It’s a beautiful sight, really.
