have heard/read so many good things about PPP, but haven't gotten around to seeing it yet... autographed DVD would be cool (and then i'd get to see the movie)
We have a newborn and no reliable babysitter to go out to see a movie - a new DVD would make the home stays more enjoyable!

My friend loves ping pong, it would make a great gift for him! For his culture show, he was a famous movie trailer director, and his first hit was centered around playing ping pong. Not sure if this is visible (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/vide...). But also, we'd be willing to show this movie at my university's annual APAHM celebration in the spring!
*Ping Pong Playa is a fraud. And this Playa hata' is calling him out. I'M the TRUE ping pong champion and I just want to say, I was robbed! Robbed I say, of my table tennis crown. I NEED this DVD so I can study "Playa's" moves and skills so I can defeat him in a rematch. That fool better watch his back cause these balls of fury are comin' after him at the next competition. When I get done watching and studying the DVD, I'ma gonna paddle his azz. As for personalization, homie better sign it:
"To the real, true Ping Pong Playa champion, thanks for everything"
Enough said.
*The above is an entirely fictional account, I have no idea what this movie is about. I just wanted a free DVD.
I am starting a site for Asian representation in different media and would love to have a copy for our archives. Thx
oh please select me, I love this movie...I did my best to tell everyone in the world about it and, when I am am feeling bad after a crappy day, I pop it right in and laugh out loud. I have dated several asian guys and i can totaly relate to alot of the surface and sub-surface jokes and story line.
thanks for giving me this chance : )
I'd like to be the recipient of the PPP DVD. I saw it and thought it was hilarious. I think my 12 y.o. and 8 y.o. would enjoy it immensely bc the film's got an uplifting, can-do message. Plus the Asian-Am characters are shown in a positive light in a realistic (enough), day-to-day type of situation (e.g. being competitive, being a good sport, think of others, respect your elders, etc). Thanks!
I watched this film on Aznv.tv. It was kinda funny, in a very light-hearted way. Hehe, come to think of it, I knew several guys who were like the main character.
Hi! This movie looks pretty cool (I haven't seen it yet) and it would be neat to watch this with my family. I think that my mom especially would enjoy it. And, off-topic, thanks for your work on this blog, I enjoy reading it!
I'm going to goto film school and this movie inspires me; the story and how it is an indie asian film. also this site seems interesting, never heard of it. i saw the link on Jimmy Tsai's Facebook!
I would love to own this Autographed copy! I haven't seen it yet and would love the chance. Thank you very much for a great giveaway!
:)
I deserve to win this DVD as a royalty payment for using my name, Christopher Wang. I saw this opening night in NYC and loved it. It was kind of like watching a bizarro documentary about myself in an alternate reality. I kicked ass! I'm now trying to turn that life into reality by playing ping pong and hustling kids out of their lunch money. Good times.
I have yet to see it and heard amazing things about it! Would love to show it to my campers from TACL-LID Camp!

I haven't seen the entire thing. Also, Jimmy was my previous basketball coach, so I am hoping to see his works when he left and said that he would be producing a movie.
I would love to win the dvd because I thoroughly enjoyed it in the theater and it's based on my life story... the only difference being my parents don't own a sporting goods store... I've never played in a tournament... or play ping pong... but I am Asian American!
Because... I like.. I like..cereal!!!
Seriously, this is one of my favorite comedies. Period. If my man Jimmy Tsai could sign a copy of it for me, it'd be beyond perfect, yo.
I should win the DVD because I saw the movie when it was in theaters. Then I dragged friends to see it in theaters. Then I made my Netflix "buddies" all watch it instantly. Finally, I have also purchased the DVD. Hilarious movie. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed the movie so I should win!
Hey there 8 asians! I saw the trailer for this movie and thought it was outrageously humorous. I like the approach on how the film takes the stereotypical image of 'Asians like playing Ping Pong' and glorifies it in a positive manner. I'm the Asian Club President at my school and I would much like to share this film with everyone. It would be a great way to educate the portrayal of Asian Americans in this day and age; also I believe it will be quite entertaining. I would appreciate it so much if I got to win this autographed copy of the film. Thank you for the opportunity!
Why You Should Pick Me: My company is having a ping pong tournament in a couple weeks -- winner gets beer and bragging rights. Watching Ping Pong Playa would serve as the perfect training/motivational tool to lead me to victory!
I love movies, and I'm recently getting into....this whole Asian movement (dunno what else to call it). So yeah, I just wanna support y'all.
I need this flick because i want to do graduate work on asian portrayals in popular American media... but I'm tired of watching Mulan, Better Luck Tomorrow, Sixteen Candles and Fast and the Furious over and over again. holla
Hello 8asians! I've seen Ping Pong Playa twice. Once at an Asian American Film Festival on the UC Davis Campus and at my best friends house. I think Jimmy Tsai is a very talented film writer. He has the potential to tell the Asian American perspective that is missing in Hollywood's mainstream films. This independent movie is just a start for him, and I hope he will venture bigger films without losing his essence. This movie encouraged me to film a mini-movie for a national asian-american film festival, and our indie won a student film award! I'd be very grateful to 8asians and Jimmy Tsai for a signed copy. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
I am kicking myself for missing the screening of Ping Pong Playa at last year's Asian Film Festival of Dallas! And Jimmy Tsai was at the screening to boot! All can be made right in the world if I got to see the movie on dvd, and if it is on a signed copy by Jimmy Tsai, it would be like I got to meet him at the screening! =)
Thank you for this! I would love the DVD and will share it with the Asian Pacific Islander Student Union at one of our azn movie nights!
Hey there. My name is Elaine nice to meet you. I think you should choose me to win the DVD of Ping Pong Playa because I want to share the movie with everyone I know, because Ping Pong Playa makes the world, & my world, go round. But seriously, Ping Pong Playa was a really inspirational movie. The fact that the movie is based on ping pong was a great idea, but the way they added issues & problems to the movie helped put more of a "real life" spin on it. It also helped with relating people to the movie. The movie also put such a huge smile on my face, when I watched it! Plus, Jimmy Tsai is a great actor & producer. The fact that I might be able to win & own something signed by someone like him is such a huge deal for me. I know for sure that if I win, the first thing I'm going to do is call a whole bunch of friends who haven't watched it & share a whole bunch of happiness with them.
Now if you excuse me I need to tell my brother to stop drinking Boba....
Hey there. I believe that you should choose me in giving away the DVD. I am an Asian-American that also experienced the same troubles of having strict parents that want me to be perfect. I deal with stereotypes almost everyday regarding my Chinese roots. I am a student that does hip hop dancing/clown-walking, and I get bagged on by my parents to stop and to actually get somewhere in life. This movie has helped opened eyes to many of the other viewers, and I would like to own a piece of the informative and funny film that has helped unite Asian Americans together. With this submission, I shall go play a piano ;D. And maybe eat a whole box of cereal while I'm at it, but then again I don't have anymore. "Access Denied"
Thank for you your time =]]
I haven't seen it yet! I haven't seen a movie in a theater in years! Everything I watch is videos, DVDs or broadcast TV.
I think you should pick me to win because I'd just love to have this movie. I haven't seen it yet, but after reading your opinions for quite a while I'm confident in your taste. I'm sure as the token Asian in... well my entire town I'd love the film. Plus the autograph would just be the icing on the cake. I'm sure I could get my friends to watch it and I'd bet they'd love it. There's like Asian worship around here. Mostly for our brains but whenever we do something a common response is "Well he's Asian" or "Because he's Asian". So please consider me to win what I'm sure is an amazing movie..
sweet! loved the film and have it, but i would love an autographed copy!! i'm totally buying copies to give to my friends!! :)
I remember seeing the ad for this movie a while back but never had the time to watch it. I hope I'm lucky enough to watch it on dvd instead :)
HI! I would LOVE to own this dvd signed by Jimmy Tsai. This film is sooo legit because it's so funny but is conscious of how Asian Americans are portrayed. It's also the biggest film since Better Luck Tomorrow's release in 2002. This is a piece of Asian American history! And I want to own a piece of that!
