Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior (Thai: องค์บาก), also known in the United States as “Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior” was a Thai action film from 2003 that was considered the breakout film of Tony Jaa. Because of Ong-Bak, Jaa was hailed as the next international martial-arts star.
Now Ong-Bak 2: The Beginning is here today on VOD, Amazon and XBOX Marketplace. Jaa stars in and directs this epic tale of revenge set hundreds of years in the past. Featuring a huge cast and hordes of elephants, this film takes Jaa’s skills to the next level, showcasing him as a master of a wide range of martial arts styles.
What? The past? Well, Ong-Bak 2 is not a sequel, but a prequel to its predecessor, which sounds kind of confusing, right? Well, no need to be confused!
Why not get a Tony Jaa refresher course by watching the Ong Bak DVD, which you can win right here on 8Asians! And, if that weren’t enough, we’re also going to throw in a DVD of 2008 Thai action film Chocolate (Thai: ช็อคโกแลต), also known as Fury! (Chocolate was directed by Prachya Pinkaew and has martial arts choreography by Panna Rittikrai, the same pair who directed Tony Jaa in Ong-Bak.)
If you love martial arts and action films, you need to check these movies out! Ong-Bak 2 is available now on VOD, Amazon and XBOX Marketplace and the film will be in theaters Oct 23.

I've heard great things about Ong-Bak from people, but of course going to school in the middle of nowhere essentially ensures that I get to miss out on all great things. Having these DVDs would make me deliriously happy, and I'd get to be in on all the badassery. Plus, there'd be something Asian besides me around here for once. Thank you, 8asians!
I'm thinking someday I if I have to jump off an elephant and knock someone out with my shins, I would know how.
I would like to win because I just discovered 8asians.com and it is one of the best things ever... and I love Tony Jaa... and I figure a 1 in 13 chance of winning is pretty good odds.
I've only seen the original Ong-Bak once, and would like to experience the insane martial artistry again, and then spread it to my friends. I will be a missionary of Jaa.
I've heard some good things about Ong-Bak from my friends but I've never had the chance to watch it. Uhhh, I'm a daily ready of 8Asians! Also, I'd like to thank you guys to linking to Fil-Am Ako, or else I would have never seen that site before... now I have 4 Asian American blogs to read daily!! (8Asians, Fil-Am Ako, angryasianman, and Disgrasian)
Because grad school is the pits, midterms are the double pits, and I'm going to have to use these DVDs as training videos as a last resort of reasoning with my professors when they all assign 40pp papers (and the grades for undergrad midterms) to be due on the same day.
All I know is that I have this 1000 lb tv that no one will steal since its an old style box without any type of analog conversion so it just sits there collecting snow with a useless bunny ear antennae on top. Rather than contributing to more land fill, you could give me the 2 dvd's and I can actually make use of this eyesore in my living room. But if 8asians is more about adding more pollution to our fragile once green earth, I'm good with that too.
Haven't seen either of them yet, but I'm willing to give them a try. The trailers make 'em look promising. Both my dad and I love watching movies like these so it'd be nice if I can sort of surprise him with them, just 'cause I haven't been showing him my appreciation lately.
I love Ong Bak, but I would really would love to watch Chocolate, especially after seeing this crazy trailer!

But I just won a recent video contest from 8asians. Not sure if I'm eligible! =)
