Chinese Girl Covered in Black Hair Abandoned By Parents

There are some strange things in the world.

The story of this little 6-year old in China who has a “rare condition that causes her to grow hair on more than 60% of her body, including the left side of her face and her left arm,” seems like one of those strange things. Sad, in some ways, but she is so freaking cute, too.

What’s not strange is how shitty people can be towards people, namely their own children, like the parents/family of this little girl who dropped her off somewhere. One thing that has changed pretty drastically in my life since I’ve had my own children is that I’m reluctant to judge others, particularly other parents. But, I’m sorry I can’t help it: I judge these people. They are incredibly lame, for lack of a better and appropriate word right now.

What is strange is the surprising kindness of people. The grandfather of a cousin stepped forward to adopt her, and seems genuinely concerned for her, especially what might happen to her when she starts school. Bullying and name-calling seem inevitable. Or, hopefully, people will take another perspective, as a couple other 8 Asian authors mentioned in an email, “The first member of the X-Men is going to be an Asian girl!”

“But, I’m sorry I can’t help it: I judge these people. They are incredibly lame, for lack of a better and appropriate word right now”.

I wonder if to some degree the one child policy causes parents to be crueler as they get only one shot at the perfect kid.
    .
I admire the grandfather that took her in. A sad story with a happier than might have been ending.

I hope the doctors  can find a cure or medication that will make the hair go away. She is very cute. Poor thing.

Why don’t they just pay for laser hair removal?! or even petition the government help pay for it here in america since she has a medical condition… my sister had her insurance pay for a breast reduction due to the fact her breasts were so large she was having severe back pain and couldn’t work… what’s worse is she didn’t have the body frame to support them.. she was itty bitty.. (lucky biatch) anyway she could get hair removal?
