Fox Sports Cancels The College Experiment After Racist Video

The backlash against Fox Sports’ offensive video about Asians on the USC campus continues, with Forbes reporting that the network will no longer air its show, The College Experiment: “Fox Sports Network spokesman Lou D’Ermilio said in a statement that last week’s segment was “clearly offensive and inconsistent with the standards FOX Sports believes in, and we sincerely regret that it appeared.” He said the show that aired the video, The College Experiment would be cancelled effective immediately.” Fox Sports’ formal apology now includes the Asian and Asian American community. Props to Forbes for also mentioning a statement from University of Colorado professor Darryl Maeda on the “perpetual foreigner” stereotype. So can we count this incident as one step forward in positive APA representation?

About Moye

I am a Japanese-American girl who was born, raised and is most probably stuck in traffic right this second in Los Angeles. I'm currently one of the co-editors of 8Asians and like to distract myself with good food, reading long books, playing video games, catching up on celebrity news, choosing my new new haircut and then writing all about it on Hello Moye and sometimes here on Twitter if I can get it in under 140 words or less. You can reach me at moye[at]8asians.com.
