Fit by Kyzido Sunglasses

Here at GASP!, we often get the chance to try out great products by designers and shops. Recently, we were given the opportunity to try out several pairs of sunglasses from Fit by Kyzido. The company creates Asian fit sunglasses which take into account both Asian features and different types of face shape, such as oval and square. Frames are available for both men and women, and the average price is $45 per pair.

Behind the shades is a project which was created in the past three years by Connie Chen Hochberg. She started the project after her husband died almost three years ago in order to show her three children that dreams can come true. The result of her efforts is a fashion forward collection which has the potential to appeal to a wide range of people.

In general, the different frames focus on altering the bridge, frames, nose pads, and ear stems in order to accommodate the facial features common to Asians and Asian Americans. After sending our picture to Connie, we got to try frames sent for oval face shapes. Here’s what we thought (note–images are from FIT by Kyzido):

Style A: We tried this style in glossy white ($45). Featuring big frames and smoky lenses, the pair is sure to make a statement. The pair felt comfortable and light, and the nose pads made sure they didn’t slip down. The white frames are sure to get people talking–for a more understated pair, we would suggest trying the frames in black instead. The style comes in three colors.

Style D: We tried this style in metallic red ($52). This pair features a curved frame, and is quite large on the face. For us, it was a bit larger than we would like but it could definitely match someone else’s style. The style is unisex, and comes in five colors.

Style H: We tried this style in metallic blue ($47). This pair is reminiscent of wayfarers, and is a unisex style. This retro style is very preppy, and felt great on the face. We know a lot of people who would appreciate this type of style, although it doesn’t match our daily clothing choices. The style comes in six colors.

Style G: We tried this style in black with graphics ($37). We absolutely loved the graphic print on the stems, and they stood out from other pairs we’ve seen. They fit well, though the style would be better for someone with wider facial features–the frames extended a little too far off the sides of our face. Other than that, the pair was great–the unique accent over the bridge of the nose created an almost architectural feel. The style comes in four colors.

Style C-6C: We tried this style in black with graphics ($47). Like the style above, this frame had a great print on the temples which added a pop of color. The frame is slightly retro, and was our choice to wear outside with a simple bikini. The frames are sure to make a statement, so be sure that you can stand having all eyes on you. This style comes in six colors, all of which have silicone nose pads for extra comfort on the nose bridge.

Style B: We tried this style in tortoise ($45). This pair is definitely another fashion statement, featuring squarer lenses and gradient lenses. Put on this frames to feel like a fashionista as you run even just daily errands. The style comes in three colors.
