Vietnamese Coffee Filter

Lazy afternoons are perfect for enjoying Vietnamese-style coffee, and part of drinking this beverage is the experience of brewing the coffee yourself: pouring water into the metal filter, watching that dark, velvety liquid drip slowly into the cup, and making light conversation with friends.

Unfortunately, because most places providing this experience are not very wholesome, we highly recommend purchasing your own Vietnamese coffee filter ($6.97) so you can brew in the comfort of your own home. The ca phe phin also makes a great gift for coffee lovers, especially when bundled with a bag of gourmet beans and can of sweetened condensed milk. Those that are new to this drink can find an abundance of tutorials on YouTube, or simply follow this recipe from Vietnamese-American cooking blog, The Ravenous Couple.
