Why Asian Guys Can’t Get White Girls

By Mike | Tuesday, August 14, 2007 | 112 Comments

I couldn’t resist not posting this. First, there was Why Asian Girls Go For White Guys, then there was a response.

Now, here’s the flip side: Why can’t Asian guys get white girls?

This totally awesome and totally hilarious response comes from Philip Wang and his Wong Fu Productions. Nice job guys!

So why do you think Asian guys can’t get white girls?

Thanks for rating this! Now tell the world how you feel via Twitter.
(Nah, it's cool; just take me back.)

I just attracted so much attention laughing out loud that coworkers stepped into my office to investigate. I thank you.

  • http://life.firelace.com darkmoon

Heh… amusingly enough, I have something scheduled for that… I find it a lot easier to find white girls than Asian girls… being an Asian guy.

  • http://akrypti.wordpress.com Akrypti

Asian guys can. And they do.

Omigosh I’m *SO* doing yet another follow-up on this theme! lollll

  • http://mikelee.org/ Mike

This topic is like a never-ending fountain of follow-ups and blog entries!

Hey darkmoon, if you write something about that, let me know! That would be an awesome topic – and I’ll do another follow-up-follow-up!

  • http://akrypti.wordpress.com Akrypti

    to which I’ll do a follow-up of the follow-up-follow-up!

  • http://akrypti.wordpress.com Akrypti

  • http://life.firelace.com darkmoon

lol…. my followup will be posted today from the other link.. should have a trackback. I’ll post here too. That Wong Fu stuff is hilarious. This is opening my eyes to a bunch of other stuff I never got to read. It was out there, but hard as heck to find. Thanks for being out there guys/gals. lol.

  • Bertie

asian guys can get and do get white (and other) girls. anyone who tells you otherwise is a modelminority.com troll, who never leaves his computer and therefore, has never spoken to a real girl in his life.

    the end.

  • http://akrypti.wordpress.com Akrypti

What the heck is a modelminority.com troll? I checked out modelminority.com (for the first time). What’s wrong with that site? Looks pretty good to me from my quick 30 second glance.

  • Bertie

    Akrypti:

I suggest signing up and reading the forum… thoroughly.

    http://www.modelminority.com/bb

However, I suggest lurking. If you even mention you’re a female of Asian descent and even speak to non-Asian males, you will be immediately hanged, drawn and quartered and called a “Whoriental.”

    Hope this helps.

  • Bertie

(I attempted to stand up for my Asian female filmmaker friend once, whom they were inexplicably calling a “whore” (and that was one of the nicer words), and I was summarily told to “Suck a white cock.” Also check out the rampant homophobia, misogyny, and Anti-Semitism. Sometimes I think people from Stormfront post at that site posing as Asian males just to shake things up. The Modelminority.com forum is a borderline hate site.)

  • http://www.xanga.com/berrto brian

Ahhh yes, what it means to be white; good credit, collegiate legacy and the pick of the asian litter.

  • http://life.firelace.com darkmoon

    lol. re: Stormfront.

    Hey Mike:

Check out “Dating the Asian Woman: Chemical Attraction,” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkBNuMVxbwo and one of its sequels, “The Cookie Story: Loving your Asian girlfriend,” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ7ZOYtjJ5o&mode=related&search= or, heck, just any of the videos at all posted by the user Channakajima at http://www.youtube.com/user/CHANNAKAJIMA.

WARNING: Creep factor here is extremely high. Do not proceed without paper bag to vomit in handy. Scalding shower and scrubbing with heavy duty soap after watching to rid yourself of the disgust also recommended.

    Bertie:
Ok I registered for an account and logged into the discussion forum at ModelMinority.com. Basically, unproductive exchanges of ranting by like-minded intellectually-homogenous users clutter the categories, but I haven’t really seen any patently offensive comments of the type you described above. In fact, it kind of reminds me of 8A, lol. People present issues and questions, provide links to interesting articles, and then everyone else jumps in with their two-cents, albeit most of the two-cents found at MM no rational individual would pay two cents for.

    Mike:
Haha, has it been that long since you’ve been back to smalltown, USA? I thought you grew up in the suburbs like me. I’m back in my hometown now, population 10,000, and one of the first things I noticed right away was how all the local Asian American males were dating white females, and above-average in beauty white females, too. Having been in big and diverse cities for too long now, all I’d been seeing were Asian females and white males. It cannot be denied that this definitely is more frequent than the Asian male-white female relationship in L.A., NYC, or the bay area.

  • http://life.firelace.com darkmoon

The Asian male – white female relationship on a whole is picking up though. Over the last five years, I’ve seen a severe ramp up on this type of relationship on a whole. I’d say that in the last two or three years has really picked up. I think in another couple years, it shouldn’t be much more than the whole black-white white-black type relationship mark. Being in such a relationship, it’s still amusing to me the amount of staring/double takes that goes on. I’d be curious if this would happen at all in the big cities even though they have a smaller percentage of it.

  • http://mikelee.org/ Mike

Whoa – I saw a “Kill Whitey” comment in ModelMinority.com.

@Akrypti, odd, I didn’t hear any audio to those YouTube videos. Do they have audio, or was my computer just screwing up? And if they’re funny, ooo I smell another follow-up video! ;-) (jk)

And yea, I haven’t been back to smalltown USA in a while. Wanna hear something funny? As I was growing up as one out of three Asian guys in my hometown, I naturally had a thing for white girls. This worried my Mom, who ever-so-subtly would show me Asian magazines, point to the Asian female models, and say, “Do you think she’s cute? How about this one? Don’t you think all these girls are cute?”

  • http://life.firelace.com darkmoon

Mike: Would your mom had a cow if you responded with: “Dang, she’s so fine….” and pointed at a black model. lol.

  • http://akrypti.wordpress.com Akrypti

    HAHAHAHAHAHA….gasping..for..air…hahahahaha..ow, sides are splitting….

With that said, my mother recently told me I should date white because white men don’t have crazy overbearing codependent Asian mothers who still refuse to cut the umbilical cords to their sons even though said son, whom they refer to as “bao bao” or “bao bei” or “little treasure,” is 30 years old and counting.

And my parents had no problems at all with me or my sisters dating Black.

  • http://life.firelace.com darkmoon

Hey… my mom isn’t overbearing codependent! Or else she would have a cow about me dating a white girl… (she did at one point.. haha).

I still have my nickname from when I was little, but who doesn’t. So Shuddap! *coughs and runs*

  • http://akrypti.wordpress.com Akrypti

    Darkmoon,

“have a cow” ??! if using that idiom doesn’t reveal your age/generation, i don’t know what does. who *says* that anymore? have a cow ?? hahaha. i haven’t heard that since Bart Simpson. early 90s. EARLY.

  • http://mikelee.org/ Mike

@Akrypti, you haven’t watched the new Simpsons movie yet, have you? ;-)

  • http://life.firelace.com darkmoon

In all actuality, The Simpsons are still going. Outside of the new movie, there are still new episodes.

So what does that say about you and your know of pop culture? HUH? HUH??? Yeah… that’s what I thought. Now if I said…. “Kris Kross will make you… JUMP JUMP….” then that would be showing my age. Sorta. Maybe. I’d probably prefer Boyz II Men actually… *cough*

But these days? Give me Gackt, Hyde, Jay Chou, Tank, H.I.M. or My Chemical Romance. haha. You’ll never guess now!

I’m fairly up to date with my pop culture where as Akrypti doesn’t know who Rain is – who is only appealing when he’s topless or is smiling … or both. And currently for the past year, I’ve been all about Chae Yeon – rowr, she’s HAWT and funny and smart.

I like beef – preferably medium rare with mashed potatoes and gravy

darkmoon seems to like it emo-rock-ish

and just so this comment is in keeping somewhat with this post – Nelly Furtado’s daughter is half-Filipino.

  • joe

I  Chae Yeon since I first saw her on X-Man.

    Hello Akrypti,

I just joined the site to learn more of Americans of South East Asian extraction.

I know what you mean with the accusations of Whoriental.

Hope you come back at some point.

The video and comments are currently being discussed in modelminority…lol

  • Crazy_Ghandi

All this hate against whorientals is the result of too many single Asian guys. We can argue all day over the cause of this and never agree on the solution. But it is what it is.

However I’m glad that so many Asian guys are single and angry. This angry pressure will keep building and building until it reaches the forefront of American society. Then it will be interesting to watch what happens when America is forced to face it.

What we are seeing is the beginning of a new movement for Asian Males. They may single angry losers but there are millions of them around the world. It will be interesting to watch these next 10 years.

Will America’s media do a 180 on Asian guys? Or will Asian Supremacy lead to WWIII? These are truly exciting times we live in boys, so enjoy the show.

Definitely need more strong women to join that Forum. Teach them how to properly act towards women.

Some of them might end up getting dates; rather than just blame the media portrayals and the “Sell-outs”.

  • http://www.Popcast88.com Xxxtine

nemogbr … unfortunately, it’s not up to random strong women to teach them how to properly act towards women … that’s their parents job. … Anyways, it would actually sound like they’re already being ‘taught’ by strong women in real life, which is exactly why they’re lashing out online.

  • Akrypti

    HAHAHA to Xxxtine.

Unrelated Note: Going through MM, I thought the majority of users would be between the ages 13 and 17. Nope. Actually, more than 60% are between ages 20 and 28, and the second largest group of users are over age 35. (There’s a thread somewhere on there with an anonymous poll of users’ ages.) I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they’re telling the truth too.

  • nemogbr

I’m one of those over 35.

A few sane posters, but the ones who are always onsite seem to be the sad ones.

In their case, I think they need women to take them by the scruff of their necks and show them who is the boss.

They do remind me of “Cartman” from Southpark.

Racist, homophobic and misogynistic, but would not show that side to their mothers who would most likely give them a hiding.

  • http://www.Popcast88.com Xxxtine

nemogbr – perhaps you should mention to the posters that constantly seem to be online … to get OFFLINE and start talking to real women – as opposed to virtual people. The amount of time they spend ranting about things they’re not getting can instead be used to … I don’t know … getting some.

  • Bertie

I respectfully concur with the above comment. :)

  • Akrypti

I’ll have to disagree with Xxxtine here…

I prefer these weirdos online duking whatever they’re duking out in their little fishpond at MM than going out there in the real world dating my real fellow Asian women. Imagine one of these folks with your sweet little sister. Yeah. Exactly! I’m slightly leaning toward quarantining them. Is that an evil thought? Sigh.

  • http://mikelee.org/ Mike

    @Akrypti,

Very evil! What about them 5 Steps to Unity? hehehehe ;)

  • Bertie

Well, I think the “5 Steps to Unity” only works when you’re dealing with rational human beings.

  • http://www.Popcast88.com Xxxtine

perhaps sensitivity training should be an order … after all, I actually dated a guy just like them who thought all decisions should be made at the barrel of a hand gun … charming isn’t it … he lasted about 3 weeks.

What my concern is that they duke it out in a forum that is anonymous and therefore gives them a blank playing field that somewhat absolves them of any form of (obvious) civility and personal responsibility. The more time one spends in such a bubble, the more you lose of ones social skills of the world outside the bubble. It’s one of the downfalls of technology, a certain amount of personal effort is lost – but that’s another post completely.

  • Bruce

Not all the people on MM.com are bad. It’s just an overgeneralization. It’s just the 1% that make the others look bad. There are some that are way over the top and it’s unacceptable, but others will speak out to the ones that are over the top to try to add some balance to the conversation. However, if people want to flame, sometimes it’s just wise to let them flame out on their own, especially the trolls. Trolls are the worst. Someone on MM.com suggested I check out this site and it was a good suggestion. Any time I get to interact with Asians (albeit on the internet) is always a good thing. Interacting with white people all the time is not healthy, I need a more rounded point of view and you guys do a pretty good job.

  • nemogbr

Well I just started a thread asking when was the last time the posters had a date with a woman that is not their relative.

    Can’t wait for the response.

    Should be interesting.

‘why asian guys can’t get white girls?’…I believe it should be ‘why asian guys can’t get local girls?’
I came to Canada in early 1970′s as a foreign student with a big dream to go back home to lead the family business after I finished university. 36 years later, I am still here.
I ended up staying in this country because a local girl captured my heart and she has kept me here ever since. She happened to be Asian and a 3rd generation Canadian of Chinese decent (and with regret, she doesn’t speak the Chinese language). Many of my friends who came from the Orient as foreign students married local women, mostly local born Asian and some local born White. With that being said, I noticed that many of my male ABC or CBC co-workers, with professional jobs and good attributes, ended up going to the Orient to find a wife.
I believe generally it’s a situation where people grew up as minorities in a society wanting to be part of main stream society. As a result, the women married into the general population. Also because of this situation, the Asian male grew up to be shy adults; and therefore, percieved as the mommy’s boy and more interested in folding laundry than to ask a girl out for dancing and a romanic dinner (I do not mean to be insulting but that came from reliable sources and I apologize as I know I must have offended many respectable Asian men). More importantly, that was in the past, and was in the 1970′s and 80′s.
In modern day Canada, and with globalization, my observation is people are becoming more ‘colour blind’ especially among younger people. As much as I wish my kids marry their ‘own kind’, I believe that it is more important that they marry someone with the same value, rather than someone with the same colour.
Lastly, be proud of what and who you are. Dress like a refined gentleman, talk with confidence, walk into the restaurant as if you own the place, be romantic and ..open the door for the ladies…and then ..Watch out!!!

  • http://www.Popcast88.com Xxxtine

I’m really quite taken with Mr. John A. Wong’s last paragraph. My fellow Canadian!

I always say that one should enter the room as if they own it.

  • PlayGOD

I guess i had enough of asian female stepping on asian guys like dirt and dissing them
infront of a western guy just for the sole sake of impressing him.
I’ve read tons of article on how asian females are insulting and degrading their guys of their race just to fit in the white community, something typical i expect
    from those living in america.
Seems to me that americans are hard up and desperate to fit in the social circle everywhere…
    Foolish human beings..
Now please, don’t assume nor pass your final judgement to conclude i’m your typical whinny asian male.
    Really,because…
Because i’m not here to plead on behalf of all asian male for a chance that u girls will accept a date with me…or those asian guys.
Perhaps to convince u,i’m not even your typical human being for i have no intrest in dating, sex, relationship or fitting in social circle.
I don’t need any effort to fit in nor do i bother because ppl are attracted to me somehow even though i have a cold personality.
Let’s admit, human relationship has no value in the eyes of satan agree?
    It’s fallible.
I’m here not because i want some asian women to give my asian male counterpart a chance to date u but rather,i’m pissed with insults on asian male from u asian ladies.
By insulting the american born asian male in american using “using asian male”,it is an insensitive and indirect insult to a asian guy in singapore and anywhere.
Perhaps what i want to acheive here is to whip up the anger and hatred among the asian males reading this message.
I do envision a day whereby dawn rise an asian politcian who will bring about new reforms to the law.
A law that will forbid and dictate the dating/marriage and interaction between asian male and asian female.
Perhaps such law will be hard to accept but with intense hatred residing within the majority of the asian male who have been unfairly judge and put down by their own asian female
whom the love,i’m sure it will be alot easier.
And on,they will pass this hatred down to their decents, reminding them of how asian females segregate themselve from their fellow race to fit the media sterotype.
    why,that’s not all.
When such laws are pass, there will be the minority of asian females who wants to date asian guys but cannot when this laws are being put in place.
This in turn generate hatred towards the majority of the asian female sellout.
Such pleasure to witness fighting everywhere.
I’m sure that’s it’s really sickening to hear asian female dissing asian man and it’s embrassing to see asian man behaving like whinny kids instead of doing something.
So if u wanna do something, spread this message and hopefully, there will be one asian who’s willing to put this law in place.
Since asian ladies love the segregation, then i might as well help em segregate to the very end.
Discrimination…the best punishment would be a mirror effect of one’s action.
That is my defination of justice and it will not change even after majoring in criminal justice.
Pleasure comes when i use ppl as my tools to materialise my idealistic agenda taking place.
U guys must realise that there is nothing special in asian female.
In my school,i happily reject those asian girls who ask me out and i take pleasure in doing so.
I believe lovey dovey is sweet but having the strong intent of revenge pulsing through is heavenly.
Whinny about why the asian ladies are not dating u is pointless for they no longer see them as part of your race.
    Hatred is essential to motivate.

PlayGOD: You’re one of the many reasons why Asian women criticize Asian men.

  • Bertie

    RE: PlayGOD’s post

The reason why spell check and grammar check in Microsoft Word was created – or a the result of years of relying on Microsoft Word spell check and grammar check?

    Discuss.

(I made an attempt to respond substantively, but his post was unintelligible. From what I gather, I think he wants some sort of revolution instituting a planned society for Asian-Americans modeled on a junior high dance, whereby the boys are placed on one side of the room and the girls are placed on another side of the room, and they’re not allowed to talk. As a result, justice prevails, wrongs are righted, and bunny rabbits frolic. I award him a 122 on the LSAT scoring scale – He gets two free points for pressing the “submit” button.)
