Having An Asian Moment: John Cho In The Total Recall Trailer

I liked the 1990 movie adaptation of Total Recall (which, by the way, is based on the story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale by Philip K. Dick). I wasn’t a HUGE fan, but I liked it because it was super cool and sci-fi — the elements that make fanboys squeal. It was during Arnold Schwarzenegger’s hey day so there were MANY films in his action star repertoire that competed to be number one on my list. If I had to choose right now, I would go with Kindergarten Cop. It is his best work. HANDS. DOWN.

Nonetheless, I am here to make a comment or two about the forthcoming remake. A lot of people are belly aching about it, but based on the trailer, I must admit — I am EXCITED. Check it out:

Hopefully, they will release a red band trailer that will feature a prostitute with three boobs (and hopefully they’ll up the ante and give her three vaginas! *crossing fingers*).

Sure Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, and Jessica Biel look sexy whilst doing action star stuff, but let’s talk about our homeboy John Cho — he went blonde! And he seems to play a bad guy! And he has a neck tattoo! Exciting!

Actually, he will be playing McClane, the “smooth-talking rep for the mind-messing company that tempts Colin Farrell’s Douglas Quaid to implant fantastic memories into his brain.” In the 1990 version, Ray Baker played McClane. Ray Baker is white. John Cho is Asian. YAY FOR US!
