  Asians are a very diverse group. If anyone is interested, it should be broken down to specific ethnic groups, nationalities and whether they’re US citizens, residents, or other statuses. Other than that, I think a lot of people out there aren’t shockingly surprised at these statistics for Silicon valley.

  If possible, the statistics for other hi-tech hubs, like in San Diego, Washington (State), Texas and other areas would be more interesting. A demographic change with other states, especially those far away from the West or East Coasts, would affect (for better or not) the image of Asians-Asian-Americans more than concentrations in certain areas like California.

  Good idea – I think it would be very interesting to see this broken down by Asian subgroup and by status. I run into very few Filipino Americans working doing technical/engineering/research work in the valley and I wonder if my observations match the available data. Also, it would be interesting to see how many H1Bs there really are – and see if claims that they are pushing out Americans are true.
