Future YouTube video blogger stars, take note: something is only hilarious if you inadvertently injure yourself or the people you care about. Torture, say, a hamster, and that turns you into a potential mass murderer — or at the very least, a felon. And so ends any possible YouTube stardom for 18-year old Henry Nguyen of Oakland, and 19-year old Josue Melendez of Los Angeles, two UC Davis students who “allegedly battered and used a cigarette lighter to torture hamsters” while posting the footage online. The two suspects “hit the hamster with a ruler, flung it across the room, and put the animal in a cup and lit the bottom of the cup on fire,” which would all seem very Wile E. Coyote if, you know, it weren’t for the fact that an actual living creature died. KevJumba, this man certainly is not.
