This Din Tai Fung-inspired cucumber salad is the version worth saving.

I have to recommended this quick video. I’ve had Din Tai Fung’s cucumber salad before and it is very delicious, so it made me want to try this recipe out:

“If you have a cucumber and a deli container, you’re already halfway there.  All you need is a crisp English cucumber tossed in sesame oil, chili oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and topped with sesame seeds. Spicy, savory, slightly sweet, and ready in about 5 minutes. Just slice, shake, and enjoy. This is the summer side dish you’ll be making on repeat. Save this and send it to the friend who always brings the salad.”

This recipe is a close, but not perfect, approximation to Din Tai Fung’s cucumber salad – at least with my attempts.
