Do Asian Women Have the Smallest Breasts?

By Koji Steven | Friday, April 1, 2011 | 50 Comments

breast credit 300x229 Do Asian Women Have the Smallest Breasts?Since I’ve already written articles about Asian men and penis size and about Asian women and vagina size,  I figured I might as well go for the trifecta and write about Asian woman and breast size.

So do Asian women have the smallest breasts of all the races?

I think it’s safe to say the general perception is that they do. The stereotypical Asian woman is petite with a small butt, chest, and apparently vagina. But is it true?

According to the World Map of Average Breast Size, Asian women seem to have an average “A” breast cup size. Although, I would be remiss not to point out that fact that South Asian women are bigger with an average “B” breast cup. Go South Asians!

breast map full 600x420 Do Asian Women Have the Smallest Breasts?

But how accurate is this map?

I Googled for about an hour and found nothing. Well, nothing that was definite. Or rather, I should write, nothing I would bet my life on or cite with confidence. Most of the sites seemed to be based on anecdotal or personal experience.

If I had to make an educated guess, I would say that similar to penises and vaginas, race does not play a factor in breast size.  All women are different and other factors such as height, weight, diet, and genetics play a bigger role in determining the size of one’s breasts.

From personal experience, I have known Asian women with huge breasts and I have known Asian women with small breasts. I could say the same thing about African American women, Caucasian women, and Latinas that I know.

To illustrate my point, here are a bunch of pictures of women with big breasts:

Untitled 300x393 Do Asian Women Have the Smallest Breasts?

Okay, there was no real point to those pictures other than I enjoyed the “research.”

An interesting fact (that has nothing to do with this article) that I thought I’d include is that the average breast has increased from 34B to 36c in the last five years. Isn’t that interesting?

In the end, I know that this whole article is rather inane and immature. The whole point of breasts is to feed babies, not for the pleasure of men. (I hope one day to be mature enough to say that with a straight face.) In all seriousness though, any statement that begins with “All [fill in race] have big/small [whatever]” is probably racist and not totally accurate.

One of the editors of 8Asians wanted me to end this article in the following manner:  “I wasn’t able to come to a final conclusion due to the lack of research. In order to help continue this very scientific study, please email photos of your boobs to koji[a]8asians.com.” I wouldn’t say no to an inbox full of “research.”

Thanks for rating this! Now tell the world how you feel - Share this on Twitter and on Facebook.
(Nah, it's cool; just take me back.)

Average breast size of Asian women is definitely smaller. Sorry, it’s just true.

  • KenChoy

Hmm. I’ve already sent you dozens of photos of my penis, Koji, and they’ve been returned unopened. What makes me think you would look at photos of my man boobs–if i had them.

You need to attend a training course on How to Tell the Difference Between Naturally Large Breasts and Implanted Breasts. All women in those photos have breast implants.

  • moye

Not all Asian women have small boobs. My grandma has some huge knockers. Unfortunately, I did not get those genes. :( ((((

    What Fia said.

With that said though, I naturally wear an Australian 12F/G.

  • nannaia

Boobs are what, 1/3 fat? Seeing that most Asian women are lean (must be from all that fish and rice *snort*) it’s only natural that their chests are smaller. This of course applies to all women regardless of race.

Moreover, I demand to see natural boobs in this article! Those fake ones ain’t cutting it.

  • http://hubpages.com/profile/Pamela+N+Red PamelaNRed

Breasts are made up of mostly fat so thin women are going to be smaller regardless of nationality. Incidentally, all of the women in your pictures above have implants. With the growing increase of augmentation surgeries the “average” has grown in many modern countries. In nations where breasts are seen for what they are, baby food, they aren’t seen as sexual like they are here in America or other western countries.

Lol at April 1st article date

By the way, although I agree that breasts are made of mostly fat, I believe that more fatty food would affect your band size more than your cup size, and I personally feel that the quality that makes your boobs look “bigger” (even if not really) is the cup size and shape rather than the overall size of the boobs. (Like 32E vs. 40B). You can eat all the fat you can, and your boobs cup size might still not increase. I think the whole Asian bra, vagina, penis sizes might be remains of human evolutionary development –> as in, because sexual organs obviously aren’t the only factors to human attractiveness, and because child-like physical trains trigger the protective human instinct.

at PamelaNRed. “all of the women in your pictures above have implants”. Really? I feel like a lot of Japanese bikini models have large boobs that look real (since I’ve seen so many fake ones). Or maybe they got such great boob jobs that don’t make their boobs look like stiff, halved oranges. And just because the average Asian woman have small boobs, it doesn’t mean that having real large boobs is impossible (they’re just rare).

Not saying it’s bad to have small boobs. In fact, small boobs are often eroticisized. Just saying.

I’m an Asian girl by the way.

  • http://hubpages.com/profile/Pamela+N+Red PamelaNRed

@Francisca Not sure how I missed this.

Some women gain weight in their breasts as well as around the middle, it has to do with genetics.

By the way, I’m considered small breasted. When I was younger it bothered me but as I matured I decided I wasn’t interested in superficial people so it didn’t matter. I could buy implants if I wanted them but I am fine with what I have and would rather be with a man who is interested in me and not my cleavage.

I wrote an article on why you shouldn’t get breast implants if anyone is interested. I won’t post the link here but it’s easy to find if anyone wants to read it. Make sure you girls know all the dangers before going under the knife.

  • VănMinhNguyễn

Breast size, just like the rest of female anatomy differences has more to do with diet than with race.

  • Sillyfaces

Can I just say, it is surprising to me that no one has caught the fact that the photo of the Asian girl in this blog has been PHOTOSHOPPED. Note the completely unnatural cleavage, the unnatural shading in the cleavage, and the irregular perfect-ness of the outside of her boobs. If her boobs were really that large and really that uncontainable in a bathing suit, she would have an actual line for cleavage rather than a gaping valley. Just wanted to point that out.

  • Sillyfaces

Also, I don’t know what all y’all women are smoking, but it is pretty clear to me that aside from the photoshopped Asian, the only one with implants is the white woman on the bottom left.

  • Sillyfaces

Okay and sorry for so many comments. But.

    1) I’m 5ft Korean, 115 lbs, 34DD.

    2) There are plenty of small, short, fit women with huge boobs. I don’t really see any correlation between being chubby/thin/tall/short and having big or small boobs. Best friend is 5ft Filipina, 130lbs, 36D. Another is 5ft5in Korean, 115lbs, 34C. I knew someone in high school who was a very fit dancer, 5 ft tall, Caucasian, and ended up with 32E by the time she was 15. Had to go under the knife because of back problems. Another from high school, 5ft4in, Caucasian, 40AA. Boobs just come (or they don’t), okay? There are no factors. It is just life. Big or small, love your damn boobs.

    3) PS: For all y’all with small boobs who envy us with large, goddamn. Trust me; we are all jealous of YOU. We can’t fit into cute little shirts or little dresses with triangle boob covers, nor can we find adorable bras or bathing suits, like you can. Buy all the cute stuff and wear them in honor of us, k?

    K, now I’m done.

@Sillyfaces No envy here, Sugar. But women are made proportionate. Not saying you are fat but a woman does not have a big bust line unless she has a larger derriere to match. Some men are into that sort of thing but some find it unattractive. My husband is one of those men. He can’t stand a woman with a big butt. (His words, not mine.)

As for your friend that was a 32E. That doesn’t even sound right. I’m finding that one VERY hard to believe. The only girls I’ve ever seen with that tiny of band size and large cup size were enhanced surgically.

  • http://hubpages.com/profile/Pamela+N+Red PamelaNRed

@Sillyfaces They are too round. Real breasts are not round but more of a sugar loaf shape. Hard to explain but when you own a set of real ones you know what to look for.

  • Sillyfaces

I wish I were friends with her on Facebook because I would show you. She was massive, and yet SO SKINNY, being a dancer. and had to wear two bras, three in gym and dance class, just so her back and neck wouldn’t hurt. She had to downsize THREE (or two? I can’t remember) cup sizes. I remember asking her about it (I was close friends with her at the time). She told me everything. Unless she was lying to me, which I highly doubt because I don’t know ANYONE who was as large as her unless they were on the verge of being obese or were tall, she was a 32E.

Also, the black woman’s breasts are not too round. I don’t know what you’re talking about, but they are clearly being supported by her bathing suit. They are certainly more of a square-like shape, which is what happens when you contain large boobs in a bathing suit. You have no idea how much we have to struggle to properly support our boobs in ANY bathing suit. This is why I hate. hate. HATE. shopping. It takes too long to find just ONE thing to buy. My friends will go out with me to the mall, and find outfits upon outfits, whilst I’m still in the fitting room with 90% of what I brought not fitting right in the chest area. Or my boobs are pulling a halter bathing suit down on my neck so hard I get a severe headache. It’s quite clear to me that you don’t have large boobs and don’t know what they actually look like in bathing suits that actually support us. Bras included. I have photos where my boobs look “too perfectly round” and I can assure you that I have real boobs that are just being properly supported. For the love of God, I am only 21. What kind of person would I be if I were to get breast implants by this age? While we’re on the subject, why would anyone ever get breast implants?! I think it’s silly and it bugs me that there are people out there who get implants by this age. Have more pride, women!!!

By the way, it annoys me that you would even insinuate that I would have fake breasts. (See below). You don’t have any knowledge of who I am and I find it unfortunate that you would pass that kind of judgment on a stranger. You are a grown woman whom people apparently respect for, seeing as how you’ve written articles and state your many accolades on your profile (i.e. “Jill of many trades, master of some”, “I now write full time…”, etc.). So why don’t you respect others, please, before you come off as arrogant and stuck up.

Lastly, I am a size 3/4 pants size and have no hips. I am 115 lbs, and that is on the lighter side for a 5ft woman. Which means I have barely any butt (ha, I’m Asian, no kidding). How do you explain my real 36DD boobs? It’s just how they grew. I am not fat, nor am I chubby. Sure, I have a little junk on my arms and belly like anyone would. But that’s pretty much it. I am very active and any one of my friends can tell you that it is insane how strong I am for someone so small.

    Ha. Ok. I’m done.

  • Chris123

Again, I find these articles odd. You say that race doesn’t play into the appearance of certain features, but honestly. I think it’s just a “oh, I don’t want to offend people” kind of silliness. Why would a feature common or not common to a race of human be insulting? Rottweilers have bigger heads than Golden Retrievers, oh, did I offend someone? No? Exactly. Like I’ve rambled on before, race is to human, as breed is to dog. Certain traits will show up amongst the entire human species because we are just that. The same species, just like blue eyes can show up in most breeds of dogs, but blue eyes are much rarer in some breeds than others. Size will vary but for the most part there will be an average.

Asians in frame, height, and weight are much smaller than many other races among humans on average. It only makes sense that the muscles and other body parts would simply be proportionate to the frame. But interestingly enough, if you’ve taken enough random courses in University you will find out that breast size happens to be related to dairy intake. If you look at that map up there, you will notice that the countries that happen to have the largest breast sizes by average also happen to be the largest consumers of dairy which has proteins and hormones that mimic estrogen. Dairy is also a rich source of fat, and on average women who had a greater fat intake when they were young typically have a larger bust size. Breasts are made of fat, have a fatty diet, your breasts will have more fat = bigger boobs. Dairy is not popular in Asian countries because many Asian cultures were not practicing pastoralism (goat, cow, sheep herding). In fact, close to 60% of East Asian people are lactose intolerant because the lack of animal milk in the diets of their ancestors resulted in the evolution of the Asian digestive tract not including the enzymes to digest milk after infancy.

So, Asian girls are smaller on average than other races of women, therefore on average their body parts will be smaller, this includes their breasts. Many Asian women can’t drink milk and therefore miss out on it’s boob growing benefits. But keep in mind, Asia also has some of the world’s leanest people. Fat women will have larger breasts, there aren’t many fat Asian women statistically.

  • Chris123

I see some people here doubting the existence of naturally large breasted women that have small frames. I’ve personally went to school with 3 women who were like this. One short, white, 32 EE size 5. The other tall, white, 34 E, size 3, the last short, Korean, 36 EE, size 8. They all had natural bust lines, the foremost is only 17 and is already considering getting a reduction.

Usually the human body will be proportionate with itself and stick to the template designed by nature for it’s race just like any other creature on this planet, but like I’ve said, there are always exceptions and anomalies.

Not all Asian women have small breast. I have A34, but I am only 4’11. To tell you the truth I couldn’t see myself with bigger beast. It would look funky on me. Having small breast do not make you less of woman. Even though I have small breast men think I am really hot. My mom was Filipino was 5’6 and had B or C cup. If you have met Asian women with big boobs, you pretty much answered your own question. My German grandmother, was A cup for the longest time, and then she had kids, and her breast went up to a B. It depends on the woman and their genes.

  • TwelfthMan

White US guy here. ALL of my female relatives are large-breasted, (seriously, even the 115lb ones are D-cups) and while they admit that the extra attention from guys is an overall positive, they dislike the inability to find clothes that fit, they hate it when men just want them for their “assets”, and they are bothered by the way smaller-breasted women look down on them.

Those last two points fall under the “big breasts = dumb” stereotype, which seems socially prevalent in the US but in my experience is inaccurate. Based on personal observation, breast size seems unrelated to IQ. Most people are dumb, period.

There is also the concern of back problems. Every woman in my extended family considers “gives good back rubs” very high on their list of traits for potential suitors. I’m surprised they’re not all married to chiropractors. :P

Please note that I didn’t take a survey or anything, so my observations aren’t scientific, merely anecdotal. But the women in my family talk about this kind of thing at get-togethers sometimes, and you just can’t help but hear it when you’re in the room, and apparently a couple dozen years of that type of discussion have sunk into my knowledge base.

  • LindseyK

Not all Asian girls have small boobs but the majority of them do. My evidence, I’m a 36D living in Korea and it’s basically impossible to buy a bra here and believe me I’ve tried. Ask any large breasted girl living here. In my three years living in Seoul I’ve looked and asked only to have three stores where it is sometimes possible to get larger cup bra sizes (which by the way are extremely expensive). This in a city of over 10 million people.

  • curtd59

I am going to get in trouble for commenting on this topic, but here goes anyway: I think the differences in breast size between asians and indo-europeans is based upon three different factors

    a) Asians are just physically smaller / Whites are physically larger.

    b) Asians (oddly) are genetically predisposed to carry their ‘fat’ almost evenly distributed across their bodies. While whites tend to concentrate it in the abdomen in men, and the breasts, back and thighs in women.

    c) western breasts are getting larger (and so is the incident of male-breasts in the west) due to the heavy concentration of fats in western diets, and what we believe is the impact of hormonal changes from the use of plastics to store food products. (Boys should never eat food that comes in plastic. Never ever.)

I do not believe we know why Asians developed even fat distribution, although since Asians broke off from the human tree before whites, we suspect that the reason was a later adaptation of some sort, so its more likely that whites developed uneven fat distribution for some reason.

Those reasons are enough to account for the diversity in breast size.

  • milkywhite

I have size E bosoms and I love it. Thank god I’m not Asian. No offense but I love my breasts and I love boys and men drooling over them, especially the Asian men they are so hot.

I deliberately wear low cut tops and thin sheer blouses. I love opening up my blouse and let men suckle my nipples and they latch on quick. I’ve been in 12 adult breast feeding relationships. 8 of them have been men of japanese, thai, chinese, vietnamese. They go wild when my sweet milk pours into their wet mouth. I guess many Asian guys haven’t had the opportunity of being able to feed off large breasts from Asian women.

My experience in finding adult nursing relationships are harder with caucasion (white) men. Of course i don’t discriminate but I noticed Asian men seem more open to the idea.

Breasts are not only for babies but also adults, men or women. This is not sexual, however it can be erotic breast feeding older men. I’ve been lactating  4 years. I’ve breast fed grown people of all ages and ethnicity from the ages of 12 through 60. Its nurturing and a beautiful gift that keeps on giving and I’ll never stop.

And you don’t need bigger breast to breast feed but I do notice Asian men are drawn more to white woman because we are well endowed. That just goes to show Asian women have small breasts than any other ethnic groups of people.

Women were meant to have bigger breasts and its just unfortunate that evolution has not favored Asian women. I have to thank my dutch, swede and slavic ancestors for giving me such awesome genes.

    Its so true

How is breast size being measured? Is it by cup size? It must be because I see no other established way of measuring breast size. However, it is well documented that a vast majority of people wear the wrong bra size. If you are a woman, chances are, you are wearing the wrong bra.

This is because cup size is relative to band size. This means that a person with a small frame will have a much larger cup size. Unfortunately, for marketing reasons, bra manufacturers often do not produce a wide range of band sizes. This is also why many Asian girls think they are an A-cup, when in reality, with the proper fit, they are a D-cup.

It’s sad that even in Asian countries, like Korea, you cannot find a proper fit at your local store. Hence a lot of Asian girls think they have small breasts when, proportionally, they do not.

To avoid confusion, I want to reiterate that I am talking about the frame size of the upper body. I am not talking about height or weight. Two people with the same height can have very different band sizes. Take a look at the average height and weight for women:

American (US Dept of health) 5′ 4 and 152 lbs
Korean: 5′ 4 and 125 lbs (various sources)

Aside from the numbers, if you just see the people on the street, it is reasonable to say that Korean and Japanese women in general have smaller bone structures from their American counterparts.

  • http://twitter.com/smouseru smouse eroo

If you’re 4’11 with a 34 band size, you may be wearing the wrong bra. The fact that you said that bigger breasts on your body would look weird all the more confirms it. You may feel a lot more comfortable with a proper band size. Remember also that cup sizes change with band size so don’t get a 30A or anything like that. Just for reference, 34A is 30C, but your cup size may also be wrong. After finding the right bandwidth, you may have to try on a few different cup sizes until you find ones that actually fit you.

I disagree. Maybe you have known Asian ladies with big boobs, but that’s not common. I studied in the US and more than a half of the students were Japanese, Chinese and Koreans, those ladies had one thing in common besides their slanted eyes, their small breast. I’m a Kpop fan so I watched a lot of videos for sure. Bobbies is one thing that I always look at in a woman. Compared to Colombians or girls from this part of the globe, Asian ladies have smaller tits. I love Asian ladies, by the way!!
