8Asians Talk About: Our Asian American Valentines

Happy Valentine’s Day! I know almost everyone hates this national holiday but come on, it’s a day dedicated to forcing people to buy their significant others lots of inane and useless presents! Why wouldn’t you like that? I asked our contributors who we would pick as our Valentines and this is what we came up with… sort of.

John: Zhang Ziyi is mine! I recently heard (last week) she is no longer engaged…Zhang Ziyi has all the reasons – beautiful & talented! And I’m sure she’s rich! At least richer than I am.

Edward: Grace Park, simply because she’s charming, tough, and her body is unreal.

Joz: I pick Daniel Henney.  Because I’m a sucker for a pretty face.

Koji: Grace is MINE! 🙂

Xtine: I pick Daniel Henney too! Hot and really charming.

Ernie: I CHOOSE TILA TEQUILA BECAUSE SHE GENERATES WEB TRAFFIC.

Joz: Xtine can have Daniel Henney.  I now take Kal Penn.  Because he works for the White House… BOOYAH!

Koji: I have a man crush on a Trader Joe’s guy, Sung. He is surely and mean and that’s why he is my favorite.

Aaaand here comes the awkward turtle: In case anyone was wondering, my Valentine’s Day pick would be the delightful Darren Criss from Glee. This dapper young man can serenade me Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream anytime he wants. So readers, who would you want to include on this list?

About Moye

I am a Japanese-American girl who was born, raised and is most probably stuck in traffic right this second in Los Angeles. I'm currently one of the co-editors of 8Asians and like to distract myself with good food, reading long books, playing video games, catching up on celebrity news, choosing my new new haircut and then writing all about it on Hello Moye and sometimes here on Twitter if I can get it in under 140 words or less. You can reach me at moye[at]8asians.com.
