Where Are The Asians In The Bachelor/The Bachelorette?

Following the heels of Nathaniel Claybrooks and Christopher Johnson, two African American football players who filed an entertainment lawsuit against ABC, executive producer Mike Fleiss, and The Bachelor/The Bachelorette’s production companies, I demand there be some fine Asian brothers and sisters to be represented in the show.

This comes at a hilarious time as the 8Asians team received an email from an affiliated show’s casting producer:

I’m a Casting Producer for ABC’s hit show “Bachelor Pad” and we are casting for an all new season. For the first time ever, we’re casting nationwide to the general public! Fans (both men and women) of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” will join previous cast members of the “The Bachelor” franchise in a quest for love and $250,000.

I would love to send y’all our press release to share with your readers. We are wrapping up casting on Friday, so it is time sensitive.

For these shows to have only had white bachelors and bachelorettes in their 16 seasons, I think the casting producer who sent us this email must be trying to entice our awesome 8Asians readers to submit as well as trying everything they can that they are truly friendly to diverse casting.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!

About Edward

Edward Hong is an actor and spoken poet. Passion to make a change in this world through the performing arts and activism defines his ongoing life and it is the struggle against all things unjust that gives him this passion to be one heck of a talkative, stubborn man. It, however, does not mean he strives to be a champion or role model of any community but to be the man who will be honest and say the things nobody will have the balls to say. He is the jester who is outspoken in what he believes in most passionately and therefore cannot be pinpointed that he will do what you expect him to do.
